The Overlander Sports Marathon, Half-Marathon and 10km run is held the 3rd weekend of August each year. This years event is on Sunday, August 15, 2021. 

Registration and Refund Policy

Registration is now available at (Just search “Yellowknife”). 

Race Fees are $60 for each category. There will be no refunds.

Race fees will include:

  • A Race Medal
  • A Race Bib
  • A post Race Meal (from My African Cuisine)
  • Water Stations
  • Chip Timing
  • Prizes

2021 Race Details 

The Yellowknife Multisport Club is please to present the 2021 Overlander Sports Marathon, Half Marathon and 10km. We wish to thank Overlander Sports for once again sponsoring and hosting this event.   

The Event will start and finish at Sombe K’e Park on 49 Avenue located right next to Yellowknife City Hall (4910 52 Street).

11:59 PM – Registration Closes 

Saturday, August 14, 2021

11:00 AM – 5:00 PM – Race Kit Pick Up at Overlander Sports (4909 50 Street)

Sunday, August 15, 2021

Marathon Check in 7:15 AM – 7:45 AM

Marathon Race Briefing 7:50 AM

*Full Marathon Start:       8:00 AM

Half Marathon and 10km Check in 8:15 AM – 8 :45 AM

Half Marathon and 10km Race Briefing 8:50 AM 

Half Marathon Start:       9:00 AM

10 km Race Start:             9:05 AM

Course dismantled and cleaned up by 1:30 PM – 2:00PM.

*Early start for the Marathon is available upon request. Please note, early starters will need to be self supported until 8:30AM.


Washrooms will be available at Sombe K’e Park and Near Bristol Monument.

The Course will feature 5 water stations located approximately every 5 kilometers:

  1. Sombe K’e Park
  2. School Draw Avenue
  3. 52nd Street
  4. Bristol Monument
  5. Old Airport Road

Light snacks will be available at the Race Start.

Post Race meal will be provided between 10:30AM – 1:00 PM.


Volunteers are needed for the following positions:

Race Kit Hand Out – 6 Volunteers – (Saturday, August 14)

Race Stadium Set Up – 3 Volunteers (Sunday, August 15)

Race Day Check In – 3 Volunteers (Sunday, August 15)

Bike Marshalls – 4 – 6 Volunteers (Sunday, August 15)

Finish Line Medal Hand Out – 4 Volunteers (Sunday, August 15)

Water Station – Lots (Sunday, August 15)

Race Stadium Tear Down 2 Volunteers (Sunday, August 15)
