We encourage outdoor athletic activities and healthy lifestyles for all citizens of Yellowknife and the NWT.

Fitness for everyone

Our events are open to all ages. Bring the kids, bring the dog, make it a family affair!

Participation over performance

We encourage people of all fitness levels to join us. Challenge yourself or take it easy, it’s up to you.

About Us

Jocelyn Apps

I love adventure, nature and being active and was thrilled to join the Yellowknife Multisport Club in 2018. I moved to Yellowknife in 2004 from Vancouver BC and quickly fell in love with the surrounding wilderness and people. I strongly believe that if you love the land, you will want to protect and nurture it. As president of the YKMC I am committed to promoting mental and physical wellness, active lifestyles, inclusive and environmentally friendly events, and events for all ages to citizens of the Northwest Territories.

Mike Lee

VIce President

I joined the Multisport family to continue to help foster an active, inclusive community around a variety of activities and events. My career has long been in software technology and for many years I was not doing a good job at balancing work and life. That’s when I started running and cycling. These active pursuits led to many new adventures, but ultimately they helped me work on my mental health, by balancing the mental and physical of my day to day.

I have been involved with the YK Multisport Club for over 15 years, as participant, organizer, and member of the Board.  I enjoy helping others keep active and healthy while enjoying the great natural outdoors of Yellowknife. I enjoy cycling, running and skiing, amongst other outdoor pursuits. In recent years I have shared my passion for the outdoors and sport with my children. Outside of the club I am an outdoor educator, adventure guide and serve as the Executive Director of the Mackenzie Valley Environmental Impact Review Board.

Cameron Twa

Cameron moved to Yellowknife in 2000 and started volunteering for and participating in Multisport events in 2016. Cameron’s focus is inclusivity for all levels of ability. He created a popular inclusive fun run/walk series that has been running for 4 years. Cameron also has a love of pushing limits and is the organizer of the 6/12/24 ultra race. If you have a weird race idea tell Cameron and he will help you make it a reality!

Bronwyn McPhail

I moved to Yellowknife summer 2021, and have been loving all the outdoor activities here ever since. I enjoy getting outdoors with my family. My favourite activity is running, but I enjoy kayaking, snowshoeing and hiking as well.
I’m excited to join the Yellowknife Multisport board to promote active lifestyles in our beautiful territory.
